A little birdie whispered in my ear that Marine Depot was going to start carrying the new AquaMaxx Protein Skimmers and sure enough, I found this link to them in their store: http://www.marinedepot.com/AquaMaxx-Protein_Skimmers_for_Saltwater_Aquariums_Reefs-MB1-FIPS-ct.html
They weren’t there yesterday so this is obviously a new development! If I needed a skimmer, I would definitely put these on my list to check out.
For those who don’t know AquaMaxx, they first entered the aquarium industry in mid-2008 with a line of metal halide bulbs that sold well and have decent reviews. In 2009, AquaMaxx released a line of aquarium filter socks and, in 2010, 
began rolling out high-performance accessories for protein skimmers.
It looks like they are officially making their own skimmers now and word on the street is that they will also be introducing a line of calcium and zeo reactors in the immediate future.
So far there are 7 skimmers on MarineDepot.com and they are the only vendor who carries them. It is rumored that there will be four more coming soon.
